Puffer und Standards
Wasserstoffionenpuffer, bestehend aus einer Mischung aus schwacher Säure und ihrer konjugierten Base oder umgekehrt, dient zur Stabilisierung des pH-Werts; zudem Verdünnungsmedien, Waschlösungen und Standardlösungen für eine Vielzahl wissenschaftlicher Kalibrierungszwecke.
Die Puffer zur Kalibrierung von pH-Wert-Messgeräten können zertifiziert und/oder NIST-rückführbar (National Institute of Standards and Technology) sein. Diese Puffer können auch zur einfachen Identifizierung farbcodiert sein:
- Rot: pH-Wert 4,0
- Gelb: pH-Wert 7,0
- Blau: pH-Wert 10,0
