Anwendungen
Wird als Polyolsubstrat für Xylitol- und Sorbitol-Dehydrogenasen und Sorbitol-Dehydrogenase aus Xylose eingesetzt. Wird als Süßstoff und Feuchthaltemittel sowie als Hautpflegemittel in der Kosmetikindustrie eingesetzt.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Wasser (50 mg/ml), abs. Methanol (6 g/100ml), abs. Ethanol (1.2 g/100ml), Alkohol (sehr leicht) und Pyridin. Unlöslich im Äther.

Hinweise
Hygroskopisch. Nicht in der Nähe von Oxidationsmitteln, Wasser/Feuchtigkeit lagern. Unter inertem Gas lagern.
