Triisopropyl borate is used as reagent in Pd-catalyzed coupling reaction with aryl halides such as Suzuki reaction. It is used as a reagent for the preparation of the boronic acids and esters; as a Lewis acid catalyst and involved in the ortho-borylation of 1-substituted naphthalenes. Furthermore, it plays an important role as a catalyst for the production of resins, waxes, paints and varnishes.

Anwendungen
Triisopropylborat wird als Reagenz in Pd-katalysierter Kopplungsreaktion mit Arylhalogeniden wie der Suzuki-Reaktion verwendet. Wird als Reagenz für die Vorbereitung der Boronsäuren und Ester verwendet; als Lewis-Säurekatalysator und an der Orthoborylierung von 1-substituierten Naphthalinen beteiligt. Spielt darüber hinaus eine wichtige Rolle als Katalysator für die Herstellung von Harzen, Wachsen, Farben und Lacken.

Löslichkeit
Mischbar mit Äther, Ethanol, Isopropanol und Benzol.

Hinweise
Feuchtigkeitsempfindlich. Behälter an einem trockenen und gut belüfteten Ort dicht verschlossen halten. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln. Es zersetzt sich in Wasser.
