Trifluoroacetic anhydride is used for the introduction of trifluoroacetyl group in organic synthesis. It is involved in the preparation of N- and O-trifluoroacetyl derivatives of a wide range of biologically active compounds for gas chromatography analysis. It plays an important role as desiccant for trifluoroacetic acid. It is also used in the oxidation of aldehydes to acids, esters, amides as well as in the protection of alcohols and amines. In addition, it is used as analytical reagents, solvents and dehydration condensing agent. It serves as an intermediate of fluorine fine chemicals, pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals.

Anwendungen
Trifluoressigsäureanhydrid wird für die Einführung der Trifluoracetylgruppe in die organische Synthese verwendet. Es ist an der Erzeugung von N- und O-Trifluoracetylderivaten einer breiten Palette biologisch aktiver Verbindungen für die Gaschromatographie-Analyse beteiligt. Es spielt eine wichtige Rolle als Trockenmittel für Trifluoressigsäure. Es wird auch bei der Oxidation von Aldehyden zu Säuren, Estern, Amiden sowie beim Schutz von Alkoholen und Aminen verwendet. Darüber hinaus wird es als analytische Reagenzien, Lösungsmittel und Kondensierungsmittel bei der Dehydrierung verwendet. Es dient als Zwischenprodukt von fluorhaltigen Feinchemikalien, Pharmazeutika und Agrochemikalien.

Löslichkeit
Mischbar mit Benzol, Dichlormethan, Diethylether, Dimethylformamid, Terahydrofuran und Acetonitril.

Hinweise
Hygroskopisch und feuchtigkeitsempfindlich. Behälter an einem trockenen und gut belüfteten Ort dicht verschlossen halten. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln, starken Basen, starken Säuren, und Alkoholen.
