Trichloroacetyl isocyanate is used as an in-situ derivatizing reagent for characterization of alcohols, glycols, phenols, and amines by nuclear magnetic resonance. It is also used in anion chemical ionization mass spectrometry and in catalytic one-pot dehydrative glycosylation of 1-hydroxy carbohydrate. Further, it serves as a reagent for the conversion of alcohols into carbamates.

Anwendungen
Trichloroacetylisocyanat wird als in-situ-Derivatisierungsreagenz zur Charakterisierung von Alkoholen, Glykolen, Phenolen und Aminen durch Kernspinresonanz verwendet. Es wird auch in der Anionenchemischen Ionisationsspektrometrie und in der katalytischen Eintopf-Dehydrativglykosylierung von1 -Hydroxy-Kohlenhydrat verwendet. Darüber hinaus dient es als Reagenz für die Umwandlung von Alkoholen in Carbamate.

Löslichkeit
Mischbar mit Dichlormethan, Äther, Terahydrofuran und Protischen Lösungsmitteln.

Hinweise
Feuchtigkeitsempfindlich. Kühl lagern. Behälter an einem trockenen und gut belüfteten Ort dicht verschlossen halten. Nicht kompatibel mit Säuren und starken Oxidationsmitteln.
