Tetra-n-butylammonium fluoride trihydrate is used as a phase transfer catalyst, as a mild base and as a source of fluoride ion in organic solvents. It is also used as a deprotecting agent to remove silyl ether protecting groups. It acts as a reactant for the preparation of deprotecting agents, in preparation of cellulose derivatives, lipophilic peptides for DNA transfections and Dehydrobromination reactions. It plays an important role in the convertion of O-silylated enolates in to carbonyls in the presence of dimethyl sulfoxide.

Tetra-n-Butylammoniumfluoridtrihydrat wird als Phasentransferkatalysator, als milde Base und als Fluoridion-Quelle in organischen Lösungsmitteln verwendet. Es wird auch als Entschützungsmittel zur Entfernung von Silylether-Schutzgruppen verwendet. Es dient als Reaktant bei der Herstellung von Entschützungsmitteln zur Herstellung von Cellulose-Derivaten, lipophilen Peptiden für in-vivo-DNA-Transfektionen und Dehydrobromierungs-Reaktionen. Es spielt eine wichtige Rolle bei der Umwandlung von O-silylierten Enolaten zu Carbonylen beim Vorhandensein von Dimethylsulfoxid.
Löslichkeit
Löslich in Wasser, Tetrahydrofuran, Dimethylsulfoxid und Acetonitril.
Hinweise
Hygroskopisch. Behälter an einem trockenen und gut belüfteten Ort dicht verschlossen halten. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln.
