tert-Butyl vinyl ether is used in the synthesis of 3-tert-Butoxycyclobutanone by reacting with ketene using zinc(II) chloride as a catalyst. It acts as an intermediate for the functional vinyl monomer.

Anwendungen
Tert-Butylvinylether wird bei der Synthese von 3-Tert-Butoxycyclobutanon verwendet, da es mit Keton mit Zink(II)-chlorid als Katalysator reagiert. Dient als Zwischenprodukt für das funktionelle Vinylmonomer.

Löslichkeit
Mischbar mit Alkohol, Kohlenstoffdisulfid, Chloroform und Diethylether. Leicht mit Wasser mischbar.
