Beschreibung

Sulfur trioxide-trimethylamine complex acts as a reagent for sulfonation and sulfamation reactions. It is used as a reactant for the synthesis of sulfate-conjugated resveratrol metabolites and chitooligosaccharides. It is used in association with dodecyl thioglycopyranoside, which acts as a surfactant for enantiomeric separation. Further, it acts as a nucleophile used for the preparation of alfa-tosyloxy ketones.

Anwendungen
Der Schwefeltrioxid-Trimethylamin-Komplex dient als Reagenz für Sulfonierungs- und Sulfamierungsreaktionen. Es wird als Reaktionsmittel für die Synthese von sulfatkonjugierten Resveratrol-Metaboliten und Chitooligosacchariden verwendet. Es wird in Verbindung mit Dodecylthioglycopyranosid verwendet, das als Tensid für die enantiomere Trennung dient. Darüber hinaus dient es als Nukleophil zur Herstellung von alfa-tosyloxy-Ketonen.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in heißem Wasser und Ethanol. Schwer löslich in Dimethylsulfoxid und Methanol. Unlöslich in Wasser.

Feuchtigkeitsempfindlich. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln.
