Suitable for fluorescent labellingRhodamine B is used as a laser dye, metal chelating agent and an additive to drugs and cosmetics. It also serves as a staining fluorescent dye, which is used as a colorant in inks, paper and plastics. Further, it is used to make pink fluorescent pigments. It is also employed as a biomarker in oral rabies vaccines for wildlife such as raccoons. In addition to this, it is a useful fluorochrome for histology, fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) and mitochondrial probe.

Geeignet für fluoreszierende Markierungen. Rhodamin B wird als Laserfarbstoff, Metallchelator und als Additiv für Arzneimittel und Kosmetika verwendet. Dient auch als Fluoreszenzfarbstoff, der in Tinten, Papier und Kunststoffen verwendet wird. Darüber hinaus wird es zur Herstellung von rosa fluoreszierenden Pigmenten verwendet. Wird auch als Biomarker in oralen Tollwutimpfstoffen für Wildtiere wie Waschbären eingesetzt. Darüber hinaus ist es ein nützliches Fluorochrom für die Histologie, Fluoreszenzresonanz-Energieübertragung (FRET) und als mitochondriale Sonde.
Löslichkeit
In Wasser, Benzol und Ethanol löslich. Geringfügig in Aceton, Salzsäure, Natriumhydroxid, 2-Methoxyethanol und Alkohol.
Hinweise
Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln.
