Es wird auch in Alkaloiden, Farbstoffen, Gummichemikalien und Aromastoffen verwendet. Sie werden auch als Katalysator, Korrosionshemmer, Konservierungsmittel und als Lösungsmittel für Harze und Terpene verwendet. Sie werden in der Übergangsmetallkomplex-Katalysatorchemie für eine gleichmäßige Polymerisation und Lumineszenzchemie verwendet. Sie werden als Entschäumungsmittel im Raffineriebereich eingesetzt.
