Description
Potassium oxalate hydrate is used as a chelating agent, a purifying agent in the pharmaceutical industry and a precipitating agent in rare-earth metal processing. It finds application as a grinding agent, as a rust remover in metal treatment and as a bleaching agent in the textile and wood industry. It is also used in waste water treatment and as a scale remover in automobile radiators. Furthermore, it is used as a reagent in analytical chemistry for the determination of calcium and other heavy metals as well as reducing agents in photography. It is also involved in the preparation of SBA-15 (nanostructured SiO2) supported vanadium oxide catalyst.

Kaliumoxalat-hydrat wird als Chelatbildner, als Reinigungsmittel in der pharmazeutischen Industrie und als Fällungsmittel in der Seltenerdmetallverarbeitung verwendet. Es findet Anwendung als Mahlhilfsmittel, als Rostentferner in der Metallbearbeitung und als Bleichmittel in der Textil- und Holzindustrie. Es wird auch in der Abwasserbehandlung und als Entferner für Ablagerungen in Autokühlern verwendet. Darüber hinaus wird es als Reagenz in der analytischen Chemie zur Bestimmung von Kalzium und anderen Schwermetallen sowie als Reduktionsmittel in der Fotografie eingesetzt. Es ist auch an der Herstellung von einem durch SBA-15 (nanostrukturiertes SiO2) geträgertem Vanadiumoxidkatalysator beteiligt.
