Thermo Scientific™ Heavy and Light Amino Acids werden verwendet, um gezielt die Proteinexpression mittels Massenspektrometrie unter Verwendung von Quantifizierungskits zur stabilen Isotopenmarkierung mit Aminosäuren in der Zellkultur (SILAC) zu analysieren.

SILAC ist ein leistungsstarkes Verfahren zum Nachweis und zur Quantifizierung relativer differenzieller Veränderungen in komplexen Proteinproben. Dieser Ansatz umfasst die In-vivo-metabolische Integration von “schweren“ 13C- oder 15N-markierten Aminosäuren in Proteine, gefolgt von der Massenspektrometrie (MS) zur beschleunigten und umfassenden Identifizierung, Charakterisierung und Quantifizierung von Proteinen.
