Pentaethylene glycol di-p-toluenesulfonate is used in the preparation of calix[4]arenes, calix[5]arenes, and crown ethers. It is also used in the preparation of 3?-formylbenzo-18-crown-6 by undergoing coupling reaction with 2,3-dihydroxybenzaldehyde.

Anwendungen
Pentaethylenglycol-di-p-Toluensulfonat wird bei der Herstellung von Kalix[4]-Arenen, Kalix[5]-Arenen und Kronethern verwendet. Wird auch bei der Herstellung von 3′-Formylbenzo-18-Krone-6 durch Kupplungsreaktion mit 2,3-Dihydroxybenzaldehyd verwendet.

Nicht mischbar oder schwer in Wasser mischbar.

Hinweise
Kühl lagern. Behälter an einem trockenen und gut belüfteten Ort dicht verschlossen halten. Geöffnete Behälter müssen sorgfältig abgedichtet und aufrecht gehalten werden, um ein Auslaufen zu vermeiden. Es ist von Natur aus hygroskopisch.
