Murexide is used as a complexometric indicator in analytical chemistry for complexometric titrations of calcium, copper nickel and cobalt. It is an inhibitor of dihydrofolate reductase. Further, it acts as an enhancer of sonochemical destruction of chlorinated hydrocarbon pollutants.

Anwendungen
Murexid wird als komplexometrischer Indikator in der analytischen Chemie für die komplexometrische Titration von Kalzium, Kupfernickel und Kobalt verwendet. Es ist ein Inhibitor der Dihydrofolatreduktase. Darüber hinaus dient es zur Verstärkung der sonochemischen Zerstörung chlorierter Kohlenwasserstoffschadstoffe.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Wasser und 1M-Natriumhydroxid-Lösung. Unlöslich in Alkohol.

Hinweise
Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln.
