MultiShot TOP10 Chemically Competent E. coli Cells provide high-efficiency transformation for routine cloning with flexible workflow capacity. The 96-tube rack format supports scalable, high-throughput plasmid propagation and blue/white screening.

Invitrogen MultiShot TOP10 Chemically Competent E. coli Cells are derived from DH10B cells and are one of the most popular laboratory strains. Provided in a tube rack of 96 tubes to allow flexible use in high-throughput workflows and help achieve transformation efficiencies of >1 x 108 cfu/μg control plasmid DNA, Multishot TOP10 cells are a versatile strain that can be used in multiple routine cloning applications.

Features of MultiShot TOP10 competent cells include:

  • TOP10 strain ideal for high-efficiency cloning and plasmid propagation
  • Competent cells pre-aliquoted into a rack of 96 tubes, ready for transformation
  • mcrA mutation that supports efficient transfection of methylated DNA
  • lacZΔM15 allele that permits rapid blue/white screening of transfectants
  • endA1 mutation that helps reduce endonuclease activity and improve plasmid DNA yields
  • recA1 mutation that helps reduce unwanted recombination

MultiShot TOP10 competent cells are designed to facilitate high-throughput transformation. This format allows all steps of the transformation protocol, up to plating, to take place in the same well, saving time and reducing the chance of contamination. After the addition of DNA, MultiShot TOP10 competent cells can be transformed by heat-shock at 42°C using a heat block or thermocycler in the same plate.
