Mucic acid is used to replace tartaric acid in self-rising flour or fizzies. It is also used as a precursor of adipic acid en route to nylon by a rhenium-catalyzed deoxydehydration reaction. It replaces potassium bitartrate in baking powder and also used for manufacture of granular effervescing salts.

Anwendungen
Schleimsäure wird verwendet, um Weinsäure in Mehl mit Backpulverzusatz oder Sprudeltabletten zu ersetzen. Wird auch als Vorläufer der Adipinsäure auf dem Weg zu Nylon durch eine Rhenium-katalysierte Deoxydehydrationsreaktion verwendet. Ersetzt Kaliumbitartrat in Backpulver und wird auch für die Herstellung von granularen Brausesalzen verwendet.

Wasserlöslich.

Hinweise
Halten Sie den Behälter dicht verschlossen. Kühl und trocken in einem gut versiegelten Behälter lagern. Nicht kompatibel mit Oxidationsmitteln.
