Mouse Interleukin 3 (IL-3) Recombinant Protein, RMIL310, from Invitrogen.

Interleukin 3 (IL-3), also called Mast Cell Growth Factor (MCGF), Multi-Colony Stimulating Factor (multi-CSF), or Eosinophil-CSF (E-CSF), is produced by activated T cells, mast cells and eosinophils. IL-3 is a hematopoietic growth factor that stimulates colony formation of erythroid, megakaryocyte, neutrophil, eosinophil, basophil, mast cell and monocytic lineages. Most of these functions are enhanced or dependent on co-stimulation with other cytokines. Human and mouse IL-3 share only 29% sequence identity at the amino acid level. The bioactivity of IL-3 is highly species specific. For example, human IL-3 has no activity on mouse cells. IL-3 is a potent growth promoting cytokine. IL-3 is capable of supporting the proliferation of a broad range of hematopoietic cell types, and is involved in a variety of cell activities such as cell growth, differentiation and apoptosis. IL-3 has been shown to also possess neurotrophic activity, and it may be associated with neurologic disorders. RMIL310 contains 134 amino acid residues. Purity: >96% pure by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analysis. Activity: One unit of activity is <0.1ng/mL, as determined by proliferation assay of mouse IL-3-dependent FDC-P1 cells, corresponding to a specific activity of >1x10^7 units/mg. Use: Interleukin-3 exerts activity in the range of 0.1 to 10ng/mL for most in vitro applications. Reconstitution and Dilution: Reconstitute in distilled water to a concentration of 100ug/mL. After reconstitution, dilute cytokine in a neutral buffer containing carrier protein such as 5-10% FBS or 1-4% high purity BSA (fatty acid free fraction V). Lyophilized product is stable until expiration if stored desiccated below 0°C. Cytokines diluted as indicated above should be divided into aliquots and stored at -70°C. Recombinant proteins should be stored at concentrations >500ng/mL to reduce loss of activity.
