Lithium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide is used in the preparation of chiral imidazolium salt through an anion metathesis of the corresponding triflate organic electrolyte-based lithium batteries. It finds application in the preparation of rare-earth Lewis acid catalysts. It is also useful in primary and secondary lithium cells using organic liquid electrolytes and polymer batteries.

Anwendungen
Lithium-bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imid wird bei der Herstellung chiraler Imidazoliumsalze mittels Anionenmetathese des entsprechenden Triflats organischer elektrolytbasierter Lithiumbatterien verwendet. Findet Anwendung in der Herstellung von Seltenerd-Lewissäure-Katalysatoren. Ist auch in primären und sekundären Lithiumzellen mit organischen Flüssigelektrolyten und Polymerbatterien nützlich.

Löslichkeit
Wasserlöslich.

Hinweise
Feuchtigkeitsempfindlich. Behälter an einem trockenen und gut belüfteten Ort dicht verschlossen halten. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln.
