Lead(II) acetate trihydrate is used as a mordant in textile printing and dyeing, drier in paints, varnishes and as a water repellant. It is also used in cosmetics and to prepare other lead compounds. It serves as an ingredient in progressive types of hair coloring dyes. Further, it is used in the detection of poisonous gas hydrogen sulfide.

Anwendungen
Blei(II)-acetat-trihydrat wird als Beizmittel für den Textildruck und die Textilfärberei, Trockner in Farben und Lacken und als Wasserabweiser verwendet. Es wird auch in Kosmetika und zur Herstellung anderer Bleiverbindungen verwendet. Es ist außerdem ein Bestandteil fortschrittlicher Haarfärbestoffe. Weiterhin wird es zum Nachweis des Giftgases Schwefelwasserstoff verwendet.

Löslichkeit
Frei löslich in Wasser, Alkohol und Glycerin.

Hinweise
Zersetzt sich bei einer Lufttemperatur ab 200 °C und ist lichtempfindlich. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Säuren und starken Oxidationsmitteln.
