Isopropylmagnesium chloride is used in the regioselective functionalization of trisubstituted pyridines, electrophilic amination for preparation of amines and functionalization of cyclopentene derivatives. It is involved in the preparation of 2,3-functionalized furans, benzofurans, and thiophenes. Further, it is used in benzylic Grignards via sulfur-magnesium exchange.

Anwendungen
Isopropylmagnesiumchlorid wird bei der regioselektiven Funktionalisierung von trissubstituierten Pyridinen, der elektrophilen Amination zur Herstellung von Aminen und der Funktionalisierung von Cyclopentenderivaten verwendet. Ist an der Vorbereitung von 2,3-funktionalisierten Furanen, Benzofuranen und Thiophen beteiligt. Weiter wird es in benzylischen Grignards über Schwefel-Magnesium-Austausch verwendet.

Löslichkeit
Mischbar mit Äthern und Aminen.

Hinweise
Luft- und feuchtigkeitsempfindlich. Nicht kompatibel mit Oxidationsmitteln und Wasser.
