Hexamethylphosphorous triamide is used as a reagent in organic synthesis as a phosphorylating agent. It is associated with carbon tetrachloride for the substitution of hydroxy groups with chlorides. It is involved in the preparation of epoxides and arene oxides from aldehydes and aryldialdehdyes respectively. It is used in the preparation of carbonates as well as reduction of ozonides.

Anwendungen
Hexamethylphosphortriamid wird als Reagenz in der organischen Synthese als Phosphorylierungsmittel verwendet. Wird zusammen mit Tetrachlorkohlenstoff zur Substitution von Hydroxygruppen durch Chloride verwendet. Ist an der Herstellung von Epoxiden und Arenoxiden aus Aldehyden bzw. Aryldialdehin beteiligt. Wird bei der Herstellung von Karbonaten sowie bei der Reduktion von Ozoniden verwendet.

Löslichkeit
Mit Wasser mischbar.

Hinweise
Luft- und feuchtigkeitsempfindlich. Behälter an einem trockenen und gut belüfteten Ort dicht verschlossen halten. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln.
