Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid disodium salt dihydrate is used as a chelator of divalent cations. It inhibits enzymes such as metalloproteases that require divalent cations for activity. It is also used in chelation therapy. It acts as a sequestering agent in shampoos, cleaners and other personal care products and serves as an anticoagulant for blood samples.

Anwendungen
Ethylendiaminetraessigsäure-Dinatriumsalzdihydrat wird als Chelator divalenter Kationen verwendet. Hemmt Enzyme wie Metalloproteasen, die divalente Kationen für ihre Aktivität benötigen. Wird zudem in der Chelat-Therapie verwendet. Dient als Chelatbildner in Shampoos, Reinigungsmitteln und anderen Körperpflegeprodukten und als Gerinnungshemmer in Blutproben.

Wasserlöslich.

Hinweise
Hygroskopisch. Nicht verträglich mit starken Oxidationsmitteln, starken Basen, Metallen und Kupfer.
