The E-Gel with SYBR Safe Mix Pack allows researchers to try all standard format E-Gel agarose gels that use SYBR safe as a DNA stain in your workflow. SYBR Safe-stained gels minimize exposure to hazardous and mutagenic factors such as ethidium bromide or UV light. Precast E-Gel agarose gels with SYBR Safe, in combination with blue-light trans-illumination, offer better sample integrity and a safer work environment.
Benefits of using E-Gel agarose gels with SYBR Safe include:
- Better sample integrity—exploits blue-light excitation wavelength to minimize DNA damage, as opposed to UV light
- Safer choice—contains SYBR Safe DNA stain, a safer alternative to ethidium bromide
- High performance—detect 3 ng of sample DNA with a separation time as short as 13 minutes
- Easy sample access—openable cassette design allows easy in-gel access for convenient DNA sample excision or transfer to membranes

Running and imaging devices
E-Gel agarose gels with SYBR Safe require the E-Gel Power Snap or E-Gel Power Snap Plus electrophoresis systems for gel running and viewing. The systems consist of an electrophoresis device and a camera for fast and convenient E-Gel agarose gel separation and analysis.
