Lauroyl chloride is used as tailoring agent for chemical modification of nanocelluloses of different length, nanofibrillated cellulose and cellulose nanocrystals and in the preparation of acylated collagen with water solubility and better surface activity. It is also employed as organic low-friction boundary lubricant in the preparation of novel polyvinyl alcohol hydrogel.It is used in the synthesis of hemicellulose-based hydrophobic biomaterials.

Anwendungen
Lauroylchlorid wird als Schneidemittel für die chemische Modifikation von Nanocellulosen unterschiedlicher Länge, nanofibrillierten Cellulose- und Cellulose-Nanokristallen und zur Herstellung von acyliertem Kollagen mit Wasserlöslichkeit und besserer Oberflächenaktivität eingesetzt. Wird auch als organisches Gleitmittel mit geringer Reibung bei der Herstellung von neuestem Polyvinylalkohol-Hydrogel verwendet. Wird bei der Synthese von hämicellulose-basierten hydrophoben Biomaterialien verwendet.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Ethanol und Methanol.

Hinweise
Feuchtigkeitsempfindlich. Bei Raumtemperatur lagern. Nicht kompatibel mit Oxidationsmitteln.
