Natriumdichlorisocyanurat kann als Reagenz für die N-Monochlorierung und die Dehydrochlorierung von Amino-Estern, Synthese von antimikrobiellen Polyurethan-Additiven zur Kontrolle von Biofilm verwendet werden. Wird als Notfalldesinfektionsmittel im Trinkwasser und häufig als Reinigungsmittel verwendet. Ist auch ein Reagenz für die Chlorung zur Detektion von Ammonium durch Bildung farbiger Zebrastreifen in einem Nachweisröhrchen.
