Description

Chitin ist ein zelluloseähnliches Biopolymer, das überwiegend aus unverzweigten Ketten von β-(1-> 4)-2-Acetamido-2-desoxy-D-glucose (auch N-Acetyl-D-glucosamin genannt)-Reste.

Der Einfluss von BES und anderen zwitterionischen Puffern auf die Bicinchoninsäure (BCA Die Messung von Proteinmengen im Mikrogrammbereich wurde untersucht. Es wurde festgestellt, dass BES die Farbentwicklung des Proteins verringert. BCA Komplex um 30-–35% bei 50 mM und um < 10 % bei 5 mM, Messung im Bereich von 1 –10 mg BSA gegen Protein-BCA-Komplexe, die in Wasser gebildet werden. Dieser Farbverlust könnte auf die Bindung von Cu2+ an BES zurückzuführen sein.

Weitere Anwendungsgebiete sind:

  • Es wurde ein Protokoll für die Verwendung von BES-gepufferter Salzlösung bei der Calciumphosphat-vermittelten Transfektion eukaryotischer Zellen mit Plasmid-DNA beschrieben.
  • BES kann als Bindungspuffer in modifiziertem Eagle-Medium ′während des Bindungsassays von humanen Melanomzellen verwendet werden.
  • Es kann als Biopuffer verwendet werden, um die Selbstorganisation von heterometallischen CuII/Li 3D-Koordinationspolymeren in wässrigem Medium zu untersuchen.
