CaptureSelect CD81 Magnetic Agarose Beads are high-capacity and high-throughput magnetic affinity particles for exosome purification using manual or robotic magnetic separators. The CaptureSelect CD81 affinity ligand recognizes the tetraspanin protein CD81 on the surface of human extracellular vesicles (EVs) like exosomes, enabling purification of CD81-expressing exosomes. CD81-expressing exosomes can be directly isolated from complex source materials in a single step with high purity and yield.

- One-step human CD81-expressing exosome purification with high purity from crude cell clarified supernatant, TFF-concentrated cell lysates, and blood plasma
- Compatible with manual and automated workflows, e.g., KingFisher instruments
- Short operation time
- No sample dilution required during isolation; repetitive sample loading feasible
- Relatively mild elution at pH 9, resulting in efficient release of exosomes from the magnetic beads.
- Non-animal-derived

CaptureSelect products contain affinity ligands based on recombinant single-domain antibody fragments (VHH) created by a proprietary technology. The VHH affinity ligand is a 12–15 kDa fragment comprising the three complementarity-determining regions (CDRs) that form the antigen-binding domain, efficiently produced in yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae by a production process free of any animal components (animal origin-free).
