CaptureSelect Alexa Fluor 647 Anti-AAVX Conjugate consists of a 14-kDa recombinant single-domain antibody fragment (VHH affinity ligand) that specifically binds with high affinity and selectivity to adeno-associated virus particles (AAV). The anti-AAVX affinity ligand demonstrates good binding reactivity towards a variety of AAV serotypes, including AAV1 to AAV8, AAVrh10, and synthetic serotypes.
The affinity ligand is chemically conjugated to Alexa Fluor 647 via an appropriate spacer that fully retains the binding reactivity of the ligand, enabling detection of AAV total capsids. Conjugation of the CaptureSelect AAVX affinity ligand with the Alexa Fluor 647 dye combines the high binding affinity of the ligand with the unique characteristics of the dye, which is a bright, far-red-fluorescent dye with excitation for the 594 nm or 633 nm laser lines. This combination makes this product ideally suited for stable signal generation in fluorescent immunoassay (FIA) applications and imaging.
Although anti-AAVX conjugates, including CaptureSelect Biotin Anti-AAVX (Cat. No. 7103522100) and CaptureSelect HRP Anti-AAVX (7303522100), cover a broad range of AAV serotypes, the binding reactivity for AAV9 is minimal and therefore not recommended for use in detection methods for AAV9 capsids. For the detection of AAV9 capsids we recommend using CaptureSelect Biotin Anti-AAV9 (7103332100) and CaptureSelect HRP Anti-AAV9 (7303332100).
