7-Hydroxycumarin wird als intrazellulärer pH-empfindlicher Fluoreszenzindikator und als Sensor für die Blut-Hirn-Schranke verwendet. Dient als Sonnenschutzmittel und als optischer Aufheller für Textilien. Wird auch als Verstärkermedium für Farbstofflaser eingesetzt.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Wasser (schwer bei 20 °C), 95 % Ethanol (50 mg/ml), Chloroform, Aceton und Methanol.

Hinweise
Kühl lagern. Behälter an einem trockenen und gut belüfteten Ort dicht verschlossen halten. Nicht kompatibel mit Oxidationsmitteln.
