Anwendungen
5-Thio-D-Glucose wird als Inhibitor des zellulären Transports von D-Glucose und D-Glucose vermittelten Insulinfreisetzung verwendet; es ist auch ein Inhibitor der Spermatogenese. Es wird zudem zur Kontrolle/Reduzierung der Glykolysegeschwindigkeit in vivo verwendet.
