5-Methoxypiperonal is used in the synthesis of oxazole combretastatin A-4 analogs showing anti-tumor activity. It is also used in the synthesis of endothelin-A antagonist ABT-546, and further in the synthesis of antidepressant rolipram.

Anwendungen
5-Methoxypiperonal wird bei der Synthese von Oxazol Combretastatin A-4 Analoga verwendet, diese zeigen die Aktivität von Antitumoren. Wird auch in der Synthese von Endothelin-A-Antagonisten ABT-546 und weiter in der Synthese von Antidepressiva rolipram verwendet.

Unlöslich in Wasser.
