3-Bromophenol acts as an enzyme inhibitor. It is used in the preparation of 3-bromophenyl ester by reaction with benzoyl chloride in presence of triethylamine as a catalyst. It plays an important role as an intermediate in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and dyestuff and in organic synthesis.

Anwendungen
3-Bromphenol wirkt als Enzym-Inhibitor. Es wird bei der Herstellung von 3-Bromphenylester durch Reaktion mit Benzoylchlorid in Gegenwart von Triethylamin als Katalysator verwendet. Es spielt eine wichtige Rolle als Zwischenprodukt bei der Herstellung von Pharmazeutika, Agrochemikalien und Farbstoffen sowie bei der organischen Synthese.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Wasser, Alkalien, Ethanol, Ether und Chloroform. Schwer löslich in Kohlenstofftetrachlorid.

Hinweise
Luft- und lichtempfindlich. Nicht kompatibel mit Oxidationsmitteln.
