2-Picolinic acid is used as a chelate for alkaline earth metals. Used to prepare picolinato ligated transition metal complexes. In synthetic organic chemistry, has been used as a substrate in the Mitsunobu reaction and in the Hammick reaction.

Anwendungen
2-Picolinsäure wird als Chelat für Erdalkalimetalle verwendet. Wird zur Herstellung von picolinato-ligierten Übergangsmetallkomplexen verwendet. In der synthetischen organischen Chemie wird es als Substrat in der Mitsunobu-Reaktion und in der Hammick-Reaktion verwendet.

Löslichkeit
Wasserlöslich. Auch löslich in Eisessigsäure, Ethanol und Methanol. Nicht in Chloroform löslich.

Hinweise
Stabil unter empfohlenen Lagerbedingungen. Nicht kompatibel mit Oxidationsmitteln, Reduktionsmitteln und Basen.
