2-Mercaptoethane sulfonic acid sodium salt is used as an adjuvant in cancer chemotherapy involving cyclophosphamide and ifosfamide. It is used as an antioxidant and cytoprotective agent in a wide variety of applications from protection from toxicity of therapeutic agents, such as cyclophosphamide to prevention from brain injury damage.

Anwendungen
2-Mercaptoethan-Sulfonsäure-Natriumsalz wird als Adjuvans in der Krebs-Chemotherapie mit Cyclophosphamid und Ifosfamid eingesetzt. Es wird als Antioxidans- und Zytoprotektionsmittel in einer Vielzahl von Anwendungen eingesetzt, vom Schutz vor Toxizität therapeutischer Wirkstoffe wie Cyclophosphamid bis hin zur Prävention von Hirnschädigungen.

Löslichkeit
Wasserlöslich. Auch in Methanol, DMSO (33 mg/ml) und Ethanol (<1 mg/ml) löslich.

Hinweise
Stabil unter empfohlenen Lagerbedingungen. Nicht kompatibel mit Oxidationsmitteln.
