12-Hydroxystearic acid is used in cosmetics, wax blends, heavy duty greases, polishes, inks and hot melt adhesives, as a lubricant for natural and synthetic rubbers and as a source for industrial oleo chemicals. It is also used as an intermediate in pharmaceuticals.

Anwendungen
12-Hydroxystearinsäure wird in Kosmetika, Wachsmischungen, Hochleistungsfetten, Polituren, Farben und Schmelzklebstoffen, als Schmiermittel für natürliche und synthetische Kautschuke und als Quelle für industrielle Ölochemikalien verwendet. Wird auch als Zwischenprodukt in Pharmazeutika verwendet.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Äther, Alkohol und Chloroform. Unlöslich in Wasser.
