1-Vinylimidazole is used as a monomer in the synthesis of molecularly imprinted polymers. It is involved in the removal of vinyl protecting groups with an isoprene-catalyzed lithiation process. Also, it is involved in the preparation of magnetic-poly(divinylbenzene-1-vinylimidazole) microbeads. Further, it is used to prepare ion imprinted polyvinylimidazole-silica hybrid copolymer.

Anwendungen
1-Vinylimidazol wird als Monomer bei der Synthese molekular aufgedruckter Polymere verwendet. Ist an der Entfernung von Vinylschutzgruppen mit einem isopren-katalytischen Lithiierungsverfahren beteiligt. Ist außerdem an der Vorbereitung von magnetischen Poly(Divinylbenzol-1-Vinylimidazol) Mikrobeads beteiligt. Wird darüber hinaus zur Herstellung von Polyvinylimidazol-Silika-Hybrid-Copolymer mit Ionenimprint verwendet.

Löslichkeit
Mit Wasser mischbar.

Hinweise
Hygroskopisch. Lichtempfindlich. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln und starken Säuren.
