Anwendungen
1-n-Butyl-3-Methylimidazoliumchlorid wird als Lösungsmittel für organische Reaktionen verwendet. Es wird bei Anionenaustauschreaktionen verwendet. Es dient als Katalysator, Elektrolyt für Batterien und die Metallrückgewinnung. Es wird auch in chromatographischen Trennverfahren verwendet. Darüber hinaus wird es als ionische Flüssigkeiten zur Katalyse verwendet.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Aceton, Acetonitril, warmem Ethylacetat, Isopropylalkohol, Methylenchlorid und Methanol. Nicht löslich in Wasser, Hexan und Toluol.

Hinweise
Hygroskopisch. Feuchtigkeitsempfindlich. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln.
