1-Hexadecene is used as an intermediate for organic synthesis. It is utilized as a blend for off-shore drilling fluids. It is also used as a surface active agent, finishing agent, process regulator, functional fluid, lubricant and lubricant additive. Further, it acts as comonomers in polymer such as low density polyethylenes, which shows thiner, flexibility and tearing resistance.

This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific Chemicals.

Anwendungen
1-Hexadecen wird als Zwischenprodukt für die organische Synthese verwendet. Es wird als Mischung für Offshore-Bohrflüssigkeiten verwendet. Es wird auch als Oberflächen-Wirkstoff, Ausrüstungsmittel, Prozessregler, Funktionsflüssigkeit, Schmierstoff und Schmiermittelzusatz verwendet. Darüber hinaus fungiert es als Comonomer in Polymeren wie Polyethylen mit niedriger Dichte, die eine höhere Flexibilität und Reißfestigkeit aufweisen.

Löslichkeit
Mischbar mit Äther, Petrolether und Alkohol. Nicht mit Wasser mischbar.
