1-Ethylpiperazine is used in the synthesis of 2-(2-methoxy-5-((4-methylpiperazin-1-yl)sulfonyl)phenyl)-1H-benzo[d]imidazole hydrochloride and 2-(5-((4-ethylpiperazin-1-yl)sulfonyl)-2-methoxyphenyl)-1H-benzo[d]imidazole hydrochloride. It is also employed as an intermediate in veterinary medicine, especially in the production of ciproflmoxacin ethyl. Further, it serves as a precursor to prepare dyes.

Anwendungen
1-Ethylpiperazin wird bei der Synthese von 2-(2-Methoxy-5-((4-Methylpiperazin-1-yl)sulfonyl)phenyl)-1H-Benzo[d]imidazol Hydrochlorid und 2-(5-((4-Ethylpiperazin-1-yl)sulfonyl)-2-Methoxyphenyl)-1H-benzo[d]imidazol Hydrochlorid verwendet. Wird auch als Zwischenprodukt in der Veterinärmedizin eingesetzt, insbesondere bei der Herstellung von Ciprofloxacinethyl. Dient darüber hinaus als Vorstufe zur Herstellung von Farbstoffen.
