Useful for stabilizing sulfhydryl-containing enzymes1,4-Dithio-DL-threitol is used as a protective agent in preventing oxidation of thiol groups and reagent for the reduction of disulfide groups in proteins. It is employed to investigate a-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase function, flavin cofactors in proteins and protein moieties involved in peroxide reduction. It is also useful for stabilizing sulfhydryl-containing enzymes.

Anwendungen
Nützlich für die Stabilisierung sulfhydrylhaltiger Enzyme. 1,4-Dithio-DL-Threitol wird als Schutzmittel zur Verhinderung der Oxidation von Thiolgruppen und Reagenzien zur Reduktion von Disulfid-Gruppen in Proteinen verwendet. Wird eingesetzt, um die Funktion der a-Ketoglutarat-Dehydrogenase, Flavinkofaktoren in Proteinen und Proteingesellschaften zu untersuchen, die an der Peroxidreduktion beteiligt sind. Ist auch nützlich für die Stabilisierung sulfhydrylhaltiger Enzyme.

Löslichkeit
Löslich in Wasser, Ethanol, Chloroform, Diethylether, Aceton, Äther und Ethylacetat.

Hinweise
Luftempfindlich und hygroskopisch. Kühl lagern. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln, Reduktionsmitteln und Alkalien.
