Hydrogen fluoride pyridine complex is used to prepare beta-fluoroamines via reaction with amino alcohols. As a fluorinating agent, is involved in the fluorination of 2,2-diary-1,3-dithiolanes. It is associated with nitrosonium tetrafluorborate to prepare gem-difluorides by reacting with ketoximes. It is also used to convert secondary and tertiary alcohols into their respective alkyl fluorides.

Anwendungen
Der Fluorwasserstoffpyridin-Komplex wird zur Vorbereitung von Beta-Fluoraminen über eine Reaktion mit Aminoalkoholen verwendet. Als Fluorierungsmittel ist es an der Fluorierung von 2,2-Diaryl-1,3-dithiolanen beteiligt. Es wird mit Nitrosyltetrafluoroborat in Verbindung gebracht, um gem-Difluoride durch die Reaktion mit Ketoximen herzustellen. Es wird auch zur Umwandlung sekundärer und tertiärer Alkohole in ihre jeweiligen Alkylfluoride verwendet.

Hinweise
Feuchtigkeitsempfindlich. Kühl lagern. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Basen, Alkalimetallen, starken Oxidationsmitteln, Metallen und starken Säuren. Reagiert heftig mit Wasser.
